TISS’MÉ

TISS’MÉ means “mixed race” spelled backwards. As weaving beads around gemstone cabochons is the central technique in designing jewelry, I looked for a brand name that would include the syllable “tiss” and that would also reflect my multicultural imagination. Being of mixed-race origin myself, TISS’MÉ was the obvious choice.

My signature

Bead weaving with thread and needle is Tiss'Mé's signature technique.
I use small glass beads called "delicas and seed beads" to set natural gemstones cut into cabochons.

Usually, stones are set with metal, but in my work, it is the woven beads that hold the stone in place and form the basis of the jewellery's structure.
I work with natural gemstones because their luminosity and colour nuances bring delight and wonder; and also because I personally believe that the energies generated by stones can naturally contribute to our well-being, if needed. The alchemy that then occurs between the stones and the coloured glass beads creates luminous and harmonious jewellery.

My commitment

I work with natural stones (untreated, unheated, non-synthetic) cut mainly into cabochons, which I choose with respect, care and ethics, following my instincts and sensitivity. Origin, quality, quantity and authenticity are factors to which I pay particular attention. Knowing what I am buying and why is essential to respecting my ethics and informing the customer about the product.

When I work, I invest in the emotional and intuitive sphere. I listen to the stone and let it guide me. I then know how to magnify it and best reflect its character and magic. Each piece of jewelry I make, whether a one-off or a very small series, carries the energy of my heart and a warm intention.

My vision

As far as my vision of my profession is concerned, it revolves around sharing, transmission and uniqueness.
I see the jewelry I create as a way of sharing and passing on: sharing a know-how, sharing values, passing on a beneficial energy.

I attach a particular importance to a person’s unique identity, and through the jewelry designs I create and the energy of the stones, I seek to highlight and sublimate it. And for me, that’s where the magic happens.

How to choose a piece of jewelry

Follow your intuition and your heart! The aim is for the jewelry to reflect your authentic personality and for you to want to wear it whenever you feel like. If it resonates with your energies and brings you a touch of wonder and happiness, then it is made for you!

The jewel can also be created and made to your specifications (from the model, to the choice of stone and colors) to perfectly reflect who you are.

Quality criterias

All our jewelry is designed and handmade in Paris and guaranteed nickel-free (except for stainless steel, which contains a very small quantity, which is highly regulated in the jewelry industry) and lead-free.
The metal findings used (clasps, chains, ear clips, bails) are in 925 silver, or gilded with 24k fine gold or 14k gold filled*. Other alloys such as brass and stainless steel can be used for other silver or gold metal pieces. The beads are made of glass and crystal: Czech crystal, Bohemian glass, Miyuki delicas and seed beads.
The ornamental and fine stones are 100% natural.
Each piece of jewelry comes with its own gift pouch: a craft cardboard box or an organic cotton pouch. A description of the jewelry and the stones set completes the package.
*Gold filled: a technique developed in the United States which involves applying a 14-carat gold finish to a metal base, usually brass, using mechanical or hot pressure. The weight of gold alloy corresponds to 1/20 of the total weight of the product, or around 50 to 100 times more than in a gold-plated product. Resistant and durable, gold filled can still oxidize if it is stored incorrectly. However, because the gold layer is thick, it can be cleaned by rubbing the piece with a cleaning cloth specially designed for jewelry.
