MY ART AND MY TECHNIQUE

Tiss'Mé is the art of creating jewelry with natural gemstones set with small woven beads.

I use small glass beads called "delicas and seed beads" to set natural gemstones cut into cabochon or pearl shapes.

Usually, stones are set with metal, but in my work, it is the beads woven together, one by one, that hold the stone and serve as the base for the jewelry's architecture.

TISS'MÉ

Multicultural origins and universe.

Tiss'Mé means "métisse" (mixed-race), pronounced backward. Beading around stone cabochons is the central technique in my jewelry design, so I looked for a brand name that included the syllable "tiss" and also reflected my multicultural imagination. As I myself am of mixed heritage, Tiss'Mé became the obvious choice.

QUALITY CRITERIA

  • The metal findings used are mostly 925/1000 sterling silver and 14k gold-filled* (585/1000); and are guaranteed nickel-free (except for stainless steel which contains a tiny amount, very regulated in jewelry), and lead-free.

  • Other alloys such as fine 24k gold plated brass and stainless steel can be used for other silver or gold plated metal parts.

    The beads are made of glass and crystal: Czech crystal, Bohemian glass, Delicas and Miyuki seed beads.

  • Fine gemstones are natural (undyed, unheated, unsynthetic).

    Each piece of jewelry is sold with its gift pouch: craft cardboard box or organic cotton pouch.

    A descriptive sheet of the jewelry and stones used completes the package.
